90+ Point Wines
Thu Apr 18 2019
It’s time for wine! There will be lots of great wines at Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour on Saturday, April 27 6-10 pm at Mirage. This event only happens in three cities including Las Vegas and it’s a huge draw for those who want to try top wines of the world that have scored 90 points or higher by WS editors. Three hours might not be enough to taste over 240 wines, but here’s a few producers I’m going to take sips from: Pascal Jolivet from Loire, Gérard Bertrand from Languedoc, Ca’ Del Bosco from Lombardy, Cirq from Russian River, Elena Walch from Alto Adige, Ktima Gerovassiliou from Greece, and all the producers from Piedmont and Champagne, of course! But don’t wait until Saturday, because festivities start the evening before. James Beard Award-winning Chef Shawn McClain’s Sage is hosting a splendid wine dinner featuring a five-course meal masterfully prepared by Executive Chef Christopher Heisinger, along with elegant wine pairings from HALL, WALT, Clarice and Siduri wineries to complement each course. Then during the Saturday afternoon of the Grand Tasting at 1 p.m., if you’re a Pinot Noir devotee, deepen your knowledge with a tasting seminar at Jean Georges Steakhouse.
